Monitor for 3d/graphic design?

I'm planning to buy new monitor, since my current CRT is already 5 years old. it's far from flat, and the color balance is rather disturbed. Should I buy CRT or LCD? I know nothing about good monitor. Only know that I need 17"-20", pretty wide screen to accommodate the tool palettes, with good color quality so I know what I'm gonna see on the paper..
of course, price is among prime consideration
So,well, where should I start?

anyway, I completely aware that I've submit nothing for quite long time, and feel guilty for that. but life's been hard on me these past weeks. Almost got no time for myself.. For your information,I've got no holiday after the mid test!!!! Tuesday is the last day for the test, and right after on Wednesday, the studio starts again!! Oh my, why must we submit those assignments on test day...

emang masi ada yang beli monitor CRT?
LCD sekarang banting harga lagi, yang 22 inch aja harganya 1.5 an udah dapet kok...
coba aja cari LG ato Samsung...
lagipula LCD radiasinya rendah ga kaya CRT, ga makan tempat, terus color settingnya bisa diatur lah, biasanya ada programnya buat ngecek sesuai ga nya ama warna aslinya.

ooh. tadi gw beli samsung akhirnya. kata yang di toko software ada alat kalibrasi plus softwarenya namanya spider, tapi gw tanya2 di toko ga ada yang tau..
maksudnya yang buat adjust saturation, brigthness, contrast gitu?

oow, tapi LG uda ga produksi yang monitor doang katanya.. jadi tadi gw beli samsung d akhirnya.. yang bentuknya kotak, 19",1280 x 1024 pixel,n contrastnya 2000:1. banyak toko bilang itu paling cocok buat grafis paling natural gambarnya n layak resolusinya..
